What is Sage?

Does every plan include Sage?

Yes, Sage is available on every plan, including Free. What differs by plan is your monthly AI credit allowance.

What are AI credits?

Accepted Answer

AI credits are consumed by how much AI you actually use, so you only pay for what you use. Most everyday actions use about 1 credit, chatting with Sage uses a fraction of a credit per message, and heavier operations (recipe generation, label scanning, AI food photography) use more. Free gets 50/month, Starter gets 350/seat/month, Pro gets 1,200/seat/month, Clinic gets 1,200/seat/month pooled across your team.

What happens when I run out of AI credits?

You can top up with bonus credit packs (100 for $5, 500 for $19, 2,000 for $69). Packs are valid for 12 months and stack on top of your monthly allowance. You can also upgrade your plan any time for a larger monthly allowance.

Is there really a free plan?

Yes. The Free plan includes unlimited clients, 3 active meal plans, the IFCT food database, basic meal planning, the full Sage AI assistant with 50 AI credits, and the recipe library. No credit card required, no time limit.

Can I switch plans anytime?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Upgrade or downgrade at any time from Settings. When cancelling, your plan stays active until the end of your billing period, then downgrades to Free. Your data is always preserved.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cards, PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay, plus local methods in many countries, through Dodo Payments. All prices are in USD and your local taxes are calculated at checkout. You can update your payment method anytime from billing settings.

Do annual plans get a discount?

Accepted Answer

Yes, annual plans save approximately 17% compared to monthly billing. For example, Starter is $19/mo monthly or $190/yr (effectively $15.83/mo).

Can I send tax invoices to my clients?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Invoicing is available on Starter and above. Set your currency, tax labels and rates in Settings → Billing & Tax.

Do clients get a portal?

Yes, on Starter and above. The branded client portal lets clients view meal plans, track water intake, log weight, and more.

Is my client data sent to AI?

Accepted Answer

Only anonymized health data (age, gender, weight, dietary preference, targets) is sent. Never names, emails, or phone numbers. All data is processed with zero retention.

Is my data secure?

Yes. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We use Supabase PostgreSQL with row-level security.

Yes. If you're not satisfied within the first 14 days of a paid plan, we'll issue a full refund. No questions asked.
